Embrace Africa Teams Arrival at Sambasha Secondary
On 30th November our “Embrace Africa Team” visited Sambasha Secondary School, a school in Arusha Rural areas with 600 students. The main objective was to talk with girls on issues related to sexual and reproductive health as well as to distribute the sanitary pads to the girls in need at the school. But also to make sure we solve all the challenges they have.

We succeeded to reach 215 girls aged between 12-18 years on matters of personal hygiene, effect of Female Genital Mutilation, unprotected sex, early pregnancy as well as remaining them of self-value. We were able to have group discussion and question and answer session that helped us to learn a lot from them as we were listening to them and also share information with them.
Distribution of reusable sanitary pads
Our team were able to distribute reusable menstrual kits to the most vulnerable girls at school.
Meeting with school administration
We were able to meet with the school administration and share with them the next year 2024 program with girls of the same school.
Interviews with the most needs girls
Most girls are vulnerable as most of them are from Maasai community where girls are subjected to early and forced marriage, Female Genital Mutilation, early pregnancies as well as service poverty which cause school drop out as they have to work or allow their parents to go out to get the basic needs as the take care of other family members. For the year 2024 we are planning to reach 100 girls from Sambasha with necessary school needs.
